He crowns the year with His goodness

Today is the twelveth day of the twelveth month and I'm writing this about 12 in the morning! Psalm 65:11 is a very enriching verse. It presents hope, faith and assurance. Elshaddai, Adonai, Yud-Hey-Vav-Hey will crown the year... He will do exceedingly above what we ask or think, He will bless, He will enrich, He will favour, He will lavish upon, He will be gracious, yes, He is very gracious!

Psalm 8:5 was the verse on my heart when this year began... we have been crowned with glory and honour. Now as the year ends and a new one begins, He crowns it with goodness... seems like a good mix, glory, honour and goodness... what a blessing!

They have also blessed me
With Shalom (Alafia, Peace), my first son
And Asher, (Ibukun, Blessing), my second son

Mexico

It was such a blessing to hear in church this morning that the mission institute graduates were going to Mexico tomorrow on a missions trip. I remembered the first mission trip (medical missions) I took to El Hongo, Mexico with the Student for International Missions (SIMS) at Loma Linda. It was memorable! I also remembered the photograph above. I took that at El Hongo. God is truly awesome! Nature is breathtaking.

Spiritual Resources

I have written special word-based prayers over the years. Below is the most circulated - Enjoy!

Daily Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for this day. It is the day that You have made, therefore I will rejoice and be glad in You today. I thank You for my family. Thank You for bringing us into this day. Your perfect will shall be done in our lives today in Jesus name. We thank You for keeping us by Your word. We come under Your mercies that are new every morning, for great is Your faithfulness. We praise You for You are good and Your mercies endure forever. Thank You for being our Father. Thank You for Your Spirit on the inside of us. We are Your sons and we are led by Your Spirit. We appreciate the Godhead, enjoying the abundant life of Christ, cherishing His grace, living by His faith.

I pray for every member of the body of Christ. I pray for their family members. I pray for peace, love, and joy in their homes. I pray that those in financial debt shall be blessed. I declare that their needs are met. I ask that they put on Your whole armor and stand against the wiles of the wicked. I pray for ministers in the body. I use my pastor as a point of contact that our ministers shall fulfill the ministry upon their lives. I pray that they uphold the word and integrity in their lives. I ask that they shall stand, having done all to stand. That they shall speak Your word as Your oracles, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray for the old in the body that they will enjoy the healing that Jesus purchased for them. I ask that husbands will love their wives as Christ loves the church. I pray that wives will submit to their husbands as they submit to You. I thank You for children in the body. I ask that as the Lord Jesus, they shall grow in wisdom, grace, and in stature, having favor with You and with all men. I pray that they will be taught of You and that You will keep them safe. I declare that our children are kept from the evil one in Jesus name. I pray for babes in Christ, that they shall desire the sincere milk of the word and grow thereby, becoming mature in the word, comparing spiritual with spiritual, rightly dividing the word of truth. I pray that those of us who are strong in Christ will consider the weak, bearing one another’s burden, keeping the spirit of unity in a bond of peace.

I pray for the leadership of this country and all other countries. I ask that You turn the hearts of the leaders after Your will. I pray that You surround the presidents with men and women of wisdom and integrity who will uphold justice and shun evil. I thank You that the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached freely in every part of this nation and all nations. I pray particularly for the leaders of this nation where I dwell. May they uphold the truth at all times and bring the threshing wheel over evil and evil doers. I ask that they walk in the wisdom from above, that their thrones be established in true righteousness. I pray specifically for the peace of Jerusalem, that she will prosper. I ask that her leaders will embrace Jesus the Messiah and exalt Him as Lord. I declare that Jesus is Lord all over the nations of the earth.

I pray for those who are not yet saved. I ask that You bring the appropriate minister of the new testament, a faithful witness of the gospel of Christ to each unsaved soul regardless of age, sex, and nationality. I ask that the barriers created by the Devil be removed, that there will be no miscommunication in the hearts of these potential believers of Your love and purpose. I pray that the light of the gospel of Christ will shine in their hearts that they will understand the good news. Thank You for souls that will become saved today. I rejoice with the angels in heaven over these souls. I ask that these souls once saved will find a word-obeying church and grow spiritually.

According to Your word, I declare that everyone in my household, both nuclear and extended, shall be saved. My household and I are blessed at home and in the field. We are blessed in our going out and in our coming in. We are the redeemed of the Lord. No weapon fashioned against us will prosper. No evil shall befall us. No plague shall come near our dwelling place. Whatsoever we lay our hands upon shall prosper in Jesus name. Your word prospers concerning us. We flourish like the cedars of Lebanon. Greater are You on the inside of us than the one in the world. You surround us with Your favor as a shield. You lift up Your loving countenance upon us and give us peace. You anoint us with Your oil of gladness above our fellows. You perfect what You have begun in our lives. Like the tree planted by the rivers of water, we bear forth our fruit in our season, and our leaves do not dry up in Jesus name. We are safe from all danger and harm. Having done all to stand we stand therefore putting on the whole armor of God, rooted and grounded in godly love, being steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor in Him is not in vain.

Father, help me go through this day with a godly attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each moment, thinking on Your word. Keep me strong in faith that I may help the weak. Help me to be wise as a serpent and to be gentle as a dove.

I declare that Your Spirit leads me today by Your word. I thank You that I am in perfect peace because my mind is stayed on You. Thank You for blessing me that I have, enjoy and continue to be a blessing to others. I profess that I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I am strong in the word. I am strong in faith. I am God’s righteousness in Christ Jesus and I am blessed. I enjoy His grace, I live by His faith, and I walk in His love. I walk in the wisdom from above. I pay the debt of agape love to everyone today. I continue in agape love, casting down imaginations not of God and professing the love of Christ to everyone. I am a king and a priest unto God, my heavenly Father. I fulfill my calling and ministry, being led by the Holy Spirit, declaring the gospel of Christ boldly, instant, in and out of season.

Satan, you are bound regarding the body of Christ. You are powerless over my church and everyone in position of leadership in Jesus name. You are bound over the leaders of this nation and all other nations in the name of Jesus. I bind you over Jerusalem and her leaders. Satan, you are bound over every soul that has the opportunity to become saved. Your power over their lives is broken in Jesus name. I bind you over my life and all my household members in the name of Jesus. Take your hands off everyone and everything that belongs to me. Take your hands off our blessings. We resist you in Jesus name. We give you no room in our lives in the name of Jesus. I take back everything you’ve stolen from me. I speak life into every dead situation in my life. I do not allow you to steal from me anymore. I cast you out of my life in Jesus name. You are under my feet. We triumph over you and yours in Christ Jesus. Jesus is Lord over our lives. My blessings flow continually. They are not blocked or hindered in Jesus name. We fulfill the number of our days. Our needs are met according to God’s riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We prosper as our soul prospers. We stand having done all to stand putting on the whole armor of God, walking in victory daily, in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank You Lord for being my Father, I rest in You, I rest in Your word, I rest in Your love in Jesus name. Amen.

June Bloom

June is always a busy but fulfilling month for me. My second birthday is in June and it was the month I physically became a mother. It's also the month mama Solanke, mother of the motherless, went to rest in the Lord.

I have been attending a church close to where I live for a while and the pastor is teaching on the book of Revelation. Somehow, my desire is being refocused on evangelism and 'apostolism'. It's simply by the grace of God that we are and can be.

This June, I will bloom in God's love for me.

Today is May 26, 2008
Forty seven years ago this day
My older brother Sọji was born

I'm over his death
I'm actually at peace!
Instead of a little sigh
I sing a praise song
Instead of a second of regret
I hum a tune of excitement

I hope to adopt a child one day
I think I'll name him/her Olusọji
For real, Oluwasọji
Has resurrected, has revived, lives again
The Ancient of days Fearful in praises
Has proven that He alone is all I need

Ọmọlọla Victoria

Ọmọlọla Victoria

Aburo mi Ọwọn
Aburo mi atata

Iku mu ẹ ni kekere
Amọ Kristi fi gba ẹ la ni

April 1980
My kid sister
Lọla died

No autopsy was done
So I'm not really sure
Of the cause of death

However, I am sure
Of the cause of life
Since she was less than a year
She could not choose
Her spiritual destiny

Therefore I'm sure she's in heaven
Worshipping her Creator
And my creator too

I missed her and in a way
Still miss her
But I'm no longer sad
That death stole my playmate
I rejoice in life
I rejoice in the Lord

Her name was Ọmọlọla
I call her Victoria
She is Ọmọshẹgun
She is Ọmọjare

April is a blessed month
It's the month I celebrate
When my sister received the cworn
Of victory over death

Missions minded

When God first called me into the ministry I thought I was an evangelist. This was because of the vision-dream I had, and the song I was singing and the messages of the song... and I was ordained an evangelist due to my calling and zeal, and I ran with it for two years... but I was not fulfilled. Then I began to study and question and research and learn. Well, the message was "Tell my people I love them..." ... so really, I was sent to Christians, not unbelievers. So I settled for being a prophet-teacher like Prophetess Deborah in the book of Judges. But that didn't quite satisfy. I was drawn too often to the mission field. Apostolic ministry seemed to silence my quest to preach as well as teach, then it dawned on me, I was an apostle-teacher. More a teacher but definitely an emissary as well and I loved third-world missions, especially to minors.

Every year, in the month of March, my church, Crenshaw Christian Center organizes Global Summit, a missions conference. well, it was cancelled this year. I was a little disappointed but after Apostle Terry Mize ministered yesterday, my regrets were dissipated. I am still missions minded and through partnership, I will fulfill my every ministry.

Since I got saved on a crusade ground, I am passionate about preaching the word to children, I went to read to children today and I left the classroom inspired to continue the walk... preach the gospel to ALL (young and old) creatures.

Yes, Jesus loves me and YOU... the BIBLE TELLS US SO, IT IS SO!!!

Valentine's Day Wishes

Happy Valentine’s day IL

Dear IL,

Happy valentine’s day
About 19-20 years ago
You asked me to be your wife
I said no

I wasn’t ready then
I had too much to learn
At least that was what I thought
I didn’t want to mess up your life
With my own issues
I had too many questions
About God, life, culture, things
I was still on the road of discovery
To finding out the real me

Mid 2006
While I went through the breaking-free
Program at the Rock Church
I remembered you

It was eye-opening
It was humbling
I had forgotten about you
Since December 1988
Well, maybe up till January or February 1989

I thought I was blessing you
By saying no
I thought I was doing you a favor
By declining your proposal

When the six-week exercise
Of the breaking free program
Revealed your name and face
I hurt and I sorrowed

If I knew where you were
I would have come
If I could make it right
It would be done

As it is, I don’t even remember your last name
Talk less your other details
So when I began to remember you these past weeks
I knew I must do something

This poem is to say thanks
For choosing me
Thanks for loving me
Thanks for believing in me

I have been desired by many men
But none comes close to you in honor
The respect you gave me
None could match

As I studied God’s word
I looked up love in Young’s concordance
Three Hebrew words caught my eye
They are rayah, ahabim and yadid
You made me feel that special
We had a bond that went deep
And while I have loved others,
The ‘love’ I had and received could not compare

Maybe it’s true what they say
A woman can never forget her first love
I may not have been ready for marriage in 1987-89
But I sure was ready for love
And unknown to me and even you
I did love you

Why else would my refusal
To a lifetime commitment with you
Show up in the healing exercise
I participated in going through my divorce

Alright, some may argue
My divorce was a blessing
Indeed it was and it is
However, I cried for my sons
I didn’t want them to grow up without a father
My ex did not just divorce me, he divorced them too
Up till today, I’m still trying to get child support
That’s the worse-than-an-infidel I had married
The idolater I had two sons with
The mammon-servant I was deceived by
The fraud that stole my virginity
Under the cloak of religious Christianity

Somehow, I knew if I had married you IL
I wouldn’t have had to go through that
Our children wouldn’t have known the pain
Of divorce, idol worship and lies

But I had been programmed to self-doubt
I was trained to debase myself
You quickened in me
Emotions I did not know exist
I panicked, I ran, I hid
I fell, I stumbled, I bled

Then I called upon the name of the Lord
And as He promised, He saved me
By the time I was healed and restored
I had forgotten your last name

All I remember is your lovely smile
Your great looks and tall stature
I even appreciate the fact
That your complexion matched mine

But I don’t know where you are
I may never know till the marriage supper of the lamb
So this is my closure
This is my farewell

As your name has a crown in it
I’ve matched it to mine
Psalm 8:5 says we have been crowned
With glory and honor or majesty

I pray your crown shines
Brighter and brighter
I’m determined to keep mine shining
I’m finally where God wants me
Emotionally and mentally
The issues are gone
The curse is broken
The chains are cut
The barriers removed

My dear IL
My initial love
By our Lord’s grace
Have a glorious valentine’s day

Thank God for His faithfulness! He is the Faithful One. By His grace and faithfulness, my family has entered into 2008 and by His grace and faithfulness, we shall complete 2008 and move on to the next...

2008,
Year to jubilate

Year of restoration
Year of consolation
Year of dominion
Over ungodly distraction

Of deliverance from the maze
Decepition and phonies.

Receive glory Lord
Unto You, I jubilate
