Today is May 26, 2008
Forty seven years ago this day
My older brother Sọji was born

I'm over his death
I'm actually at peace!
Instead of a little sigh
I sing a praise song
Instead of a second of regret
I hum a tune of excitement

I hope to adopt a child one day
I think I'll name him/her Olusọji
For real, Oluwasọji
Has resurrected, has revived, lives again
The Ancient of days Fearful in praises
Has proven that He alone is all I need

May Melody

Psalm 149:2
Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

I am a spiritual Israelite of God and I rejoice in Christ, my King.

Ọmọlọla Victoria

Ọmọlọla Victoria

Aburo mi Ọwọn
Aburo mi atata

Iku mu ẹ ni kekere
Amọ Kristi fi gba ẹ la ni

April 1980
My kid sister
Lọla died

No autopsy was done
So I'm not really sure
Of the cause of death

However, I am sure
Of the cause of life
Since she was less than a year
She could not choose
Her spiritual destiny

Therefore I'm sure she's in heaven
Worshipping her Creator
And my creator too

I missed her and in a way
Still miss her
But I'm no longer sad
That death stole my playmate
I rejoice in life
I rejoice in the Lord

Her name was Ọmọlọla
I call her Victoria
She is Ọmọshẹgun
She is Ọmọjare

April is a blessed month
It's the month I celebrate
When my sister received the cworn
Of victory over death

Missions minded

When God first called me into the ministry I thought I was an evangelist. This was because of the vision-dream I had, and the song I was singing and the messages of the song... and I was ordained an evangelist due to my calling and zeal, and I ran with it for two years... but I was not fulfilled. Then I began to study and question and research and learn. Well, the message was "Tell my people I love them..." ... so really, I was sent to Christians, not unbelievers. So I settled for being a prophet-teacher like Prophetess Deborah in the book of Judges. But that didn't quite satisfy. I was drawn too often to the mission field. Apostolic ministry seemed to silence my quest to preach as well as teach, then it dawned on me, I was an apostle-teacher. More a teacher but definitely an emissary as well and I loved third-world missions, especially to minors.

Every year, in the month of March, my church, Crenshaw Christian Center organizes Global Summit, a missions conference. well, it was cancelled this year. I was a little disappointed but after Apostle Terry Mize ministered yesterday, my regrets were dissipated. I am still missions minded and through partnership, I will fulfill my every ministry.

Since I got saved on a crusade ground, I am passionate about preaching the word to children, I went to read to children today and I left the classroom inspired to continue the walk... preach the gospel to ALL (young and old) creatures.

Yes, Jesus loves me and YOU... the BIBLE TELLS US SO, IT IS SO!!!

Valentine's Day Wishes

Happy Valentine’s day IL

Dear IL,

Happy valentine’s day
About 19-20 years ago
You asked me to be your wife
I said no

I wasn’t ready then
I had too much to learn
At least that was what I thought
I didn’t want to mess up your life
With my own issues
I had too many questions
About God, life, culture, things
I was still on the road of discovery
To finding out the real me

Mid 2006
While I went through the breaking-free
Program at the Rock Church
I remembered you

It was eye-opening
It was humbling
I had forgotten about you
Since December 1988
Well, maybe up till January or February 1989

I thought I was blessing you
By saying no
I thought I was doing you a favor
By declining your proposal

When the six-week exercise
Of the breaking free program
Revealed your name and face
I hurt and I sorrowed

If I knew where you were
I would have come
If I could make it right
It would be done

As it is, I don’t even remember your last name
Talk less your other details
So when I began to remember you these past weeks
I knew I must do something

This poem is to say thanks
For choosing me
Thanks for loving me
Thanks for believing in me

I have been desired by many men
But none comes close to you in honor
The respect you gave me
None could match

As I studied God’s word
I looked up love in Young’s concordance
Three Hebrew words caught my eye
They are rayah, ahabim and yadid
You made me feel that special
We had a bond that went deep
And while I have loved others,
The ‘love’ I had and received could not compare

Maybe it’s true what they say
A woman can never forget her first love
I may not have been ready for marriage in 1987-89
But I sure was ready for love
And unknown to me and even you
I did love you

Why else would my refusal
To a lifetime commitment with you
Show up in the healing exercise
I participated in going through my divorce

Alright, some may argue
My divorce was a blessing
Indeed it was and it is
However, I cried for my sons
I didn’t want them to grow up without a father
My ex did not just divorce me, he divorced them too
Up till today, I’m still trying to get child support
That’s the worse-than-an-infidel I had married
The idolater I had two sons with
The mammon-servant I was deceived by
The fraud that stole my virginity
Under the cloak of religious Christianity

Somehow, I knew if I had married you IL
I wouldn’t have had to go through that
Our children wouldn’t have known the pain
Of divorce, idol worship and lies

But I had been programmed to self-doubt
I was trained to debase myself
You quickened in me
Emotions I did not know exist
I panicked, I ran, I hid
I fell, I stumbled, I bled

Then I called upon the name of the Lord
And as He promised, He saved me
By the time I was healed and restored
I had forgotten your last name

All I remember is your lovely smile
Your great looks and tall stature
I even appreciate the fact
That your complexion matched mine

But I don’t know where you are
I may never know till the marriage supper of the lamb
So this is my closure
This is my farewell

As your name has a crown in it
I’ve matched it to mine
Psalm 8:5 says we have been crowned
With glory and honor or majesty

I pray your crown shines
Brighter and brighter
I’m determined to keep mine shining
I’m finally where God wants me
Emotionally and mentally
The issues are gone
The curse is broken
The chains are cut
The barriers removed

My dear IL
My initial love
By our Lord’s grace
Have a glorious valentine’s day

Thank God for His faithfulness! He is the Faithful One. By His grace and faithfulness, my family has entered into 2008 and by His grace and faithfulness, we shall complete 2008 and move on to the next...

2008,
Year to jubilate

Year to congratulate

Year of restoration
Year of consolation
Year of dominion
Over ungodly distraction

2008,
Year to relate
Facts of the Great
One, to Whom we postrate

2008
Year of testimonies
Of deliverance from the maze
Decepition and phonies.

Thank You Lord
For 2008
Receive glory Lord
Unto You, I jubilate

Keresimesi ọdun de o

No, I don't believe in Santa, no, I don't buy a tree or cut one down, and no, I do not spend time decorating as a way to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I do however, give gifts, have fun, and most of all, bless the needy. Of course, I let my children have fun! They wear new clothes and get lovely presents too. We all rejoice, take photographs and eat and drink.

However I tell them the truth. Santa is not real and Jesus was not born on December the 25th, the so called popular Christmas day. Yes, I let them know that the only way they can show their love to Christ is by obeying Him, by adhering to the bible. We celebrate the love of our Savior and appreciate His goodness, relishing in His grace. Merry Christmas everyone and a prosperous 2008!

The gift, the anointing, the grace

Ten years ago this date. The last Sunday in October, 1997, my church family in Tottenham stretched forth their hands towards me. The leadership team circled me. After the prayer, apostle/pastor Mark (I call him papa mark and his wife, mama Mary) prophesized to me.

I was leaving for Nigeria later that week. I had spent a little over a year in London. I left Nigeria thinking I was going for a career training, however God had bigger plans for me. I went through a lot of spiritual training. When I was sent forth, I was leaving in a better shape than when I came.

The prophecy was edifying, comforting, inspiring. I still remember some exact words. I wish I had recorded them. Ten years later, I see how far I've come. I stir up the gift that was deposited in me. I can testify to the anointing upon my life and ministry. I am honored that the Lord Jesus Christ chose me to declare His love to all. I appreciate His grace upon my life.

What was that apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 1:12?

"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry."

That fits the way I'm feel right now.

October is Pastor appreciation month, I appreciate every minister, particularly pastors that have blessed me. Because you gave, I can give to others.

By Grace Alone

Grace, the amazing grace of God is so unsearchable. This week has been awe inspiring. Despite every sneaky and blatant attack of the adversary, God's grace is still more powerful and more sustaining in my life. Becoming a true single parent has made me appreciate in a deeper, enriching way, the grace of God.

Thank you Elohim, Adonai, Elshaddai, Ehe-Ashe-Ehe, Yud-Hay-Vud-Hay for your grace.

Baba mi, ẹşe fun oju-rere, ọla, alafia, anu, at’ore –ọfẹ yin.

Thanks Mr Coleman for the shots.

Twenty-eight years

Soji,

Twenty eight years ago,
You left me and this world.
I will always miss you,
I'm grateful for who you were to me
I'm thankful that you cared
I'm joyful that you were there.

Toyin

TWENTY EIGHT YEARS AGO - A POEM

Twenty eight years ago
You disappeared from my life
Death stole you from us
The grave ensured
That we could not have communion

It’s been twenty eight years
You would have been 46
But the sting of death
Destroyed the possibility
Of you marrying and leaving a seed
Of me, being cared for by you
The short victory of the grave
Left me without a biological brother
Deprived me of the only physical father
I could emulate and desire

Twenty eight years
Seems so long
Twenty eight years
I was bound
Twenty eight years
Satan’s deception
Twenty eight years
Till I gained freedom

I was too young then
Naïve, untaught, ignorant
Lacking information
Plunged in the wrong direction

The Devil saw the innocence
And doing what he does best
Sowed condemnation
My grief watered his deceit
Lack of knowledge
Was the soil for his whims
The seed of error
Germinated and grew
Bearing the fruit
Of dissatisfaction
Self-doubt and limitation

Twenty eight years
Yes it took that long
For me to break free
For me to confidently proclaim
Soji, you’re physically dead
But you’re still loved
Soji, you’re in heaven
But also in my heart

Twenty eight years
Is not too long
To shed a tear
To say thank you
To sing a song
To tell of you

No twenty eight years
Is just the beginning
Of my testimony
Of what God did for me
Of how Christ made me free

Twenty eight years
Doesn’t come close
To the time we’ll share in eternity
With the Bride of the Lamb

Twenty eight years
And many more
I’ll rejoice in the truth
That absent from the body
We are present with the Lord
For you believed that Jesus Christ
Paid the price for your sin

Yes it’s been twenty eight years
Satan, I’m still standing
What you did to crush me
Only served to prod me

Weeping endured for the night of twenty eight years
God’s joy has dawned
His light has shone
His mercy preserved
Even these twenty eight years

I have a brother in heaven
Sitted at the right hand of God in Christ
He’s been there for twenty eight years

Aṣeyẹ Ọjọ Ibi [Celebration of Birthday]

Today is my birthday. I'm moving closer to 40 now. What a blessing. God is awesome! I am grateful to be alive, to be loved, to be cherished and to be desired. Thank you Jesus for everything.
